Vector Formats Loading Settings

Customize vector image loading in reaConverter with ease — resize vector files before conversion and enjoy fast, accurate results. Ideal for designers working with formats like SVG, EPS, and AI.
Vector files are more than often used by graphic designers when creating or editing various types of images. The vector format provides a series of advantages in manipulating the image, including the separation of the background from the elements that compose the image, the possibility to edit colors more easily and with more accuracy, the possibility to scale the image without losing its quality etc.

How to Convert Vector Image Formats?

1. Open Images

Add one or more vector images by selecting them manually or drag-and-dropping them.

2. Tune Vector Loading Settings

Go to the Menu button and then to Loading settings and Vector formats

reaConverter allows you to fine-tune how vector images are loaded before conversion, giving you more control over the output and ensuring compatibility with various formats and use cases. Below are the available vector loading options:

  • Resize vector image by [%]

This setting lets you scale vector images by a specific percentage during the loading process. For example, setting this to 200% will double the size of the image before it’s converted. This is especially useful when you need higher-resolution outputs for printing or presentations, or smaller images for web and mobile use.

  • Extract images from SWF

When working with SWF (Shockwave Flash) files that contain embedded raster images, this option allows you to extract those images as separate files during the conversion process. Perfect for recovering assets from interactive Flash files no longer supported by most browsers.

  • Rasterize vector graphics

Enable this option to convert vector images into raster format (bitmap). This can help when dealing with programs or systems that don't support vector files. It also ensures visual consistency when exporting to formats like JPG or PNG, where precise rendering is essential.

  • Load EMF using XPS document writer

This setting is useful when loading EMF (Enhanced Metafile) files, especially if you're encountering compatibility issues. When enabled, reaConverter uses the Microsoft XPS Document Writer to interpret EMF content, improving reliability for complex or layered vector graphics.

  • Remove background in SVG

Use this option to remove the background layer from SVG files. Ideal for preparing icons, logos, or illustrations with transparent backgrounds — especially useful for web use or overlaying on other graphics.

These settings make reaConverter a powerful tool not just for converting vector formats like SVG, EMF, and SWF, but also for adjusting how these files are interpreted and processed — offering greater flexibility to designers, developers, and professionals in need of customized image workflows.

3. Save the Result

After adjusting your vector loading settings, go to the Save as section to finalize your conversion.

Here, you can choose the output format for your files — such as PNG, WebP, TIF, and many more supported by reaConverter. Then, select the destination path where your converted files will be saved. You can keep them in the source folder or specify a new one.

Once everything is set, click the Convert button and reaConverter will process your files according to your chosen settings.

Converting vector graphics on your PC

The fastest and most convenient way to convert vector formats is with reaConverter. It runs entirely offline, ensuring your files remain secure and private throughout the process.

Convert vector formats from command-line

You can convert vector images using command-line interface, either manually or through automated scripts. reaConverter Pro includes a command-line tool called cons_rcp.exe — an advanced feature designed for professional use, available exclusively in the Pro edition.

Vector file conversion example:

cons_rcp.exe -s "C:\Path_to\input_file.svg" -o "C:\Path_to\output_file.png" -vector_zoom 900
